The first day I went to school, I cried my eyes out. With good reason, I discovered. If I had known then what was in store for me, like Dickens's Oliver Twist, I would have cried the louder.
School has nothing to do with education under capitalism. The powers that be, of whatever political persuasion (and, as the example of the Soviet Union and its satelites shows, Socialist powers that be are as guilty in this as are their capitalist brethren) are not interested in educating working people for the simple reason that if working people were educated they would realise the folly of work. Furthermore, they would also realise the truth of Frank Owen's dictum in "The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists" that money is the cause of poverty (echoed by a humble Nazarene carpenter 2,000 years before Tressell's time (see Matthew 6:24) and begin to start changing society.
That's the last thing the ruling class want.
That's why they send children to school.
To cause them to stumble.
To kill childhood.
To kill children.
To destroy childhood.
To destroy children.
AND THAT'S WHY I WISH I HAD NEVER GONE TO SCHOOL!

WHY I WOULDN'T FIGHT IN IRAQ OR AFGHANISTAN,
The whole story of Iraq and Afghanistan is the same story Sven Hassel told in "The Legion of the Damned" where President Reagan is already suffering the hellish torments he deserves and where his fellow mass-murderer Mrs. Thatcher is about to join him.
The bemedalled mass-murderers, never satiated with their lust for the blood of our youth, have organised this war in order, not to counter terrorism (anyone with half an eye can see that it is a war OF, rather than a war on, terror), but to maintain capitalist profits, chiefly in terms of oil (and this after British Pollution did exactly that in the Gulf of Mexico!). For this reason Israel "a little, loyal Jewish Ulster" was established.
Nobody denies the claim of the fossilised Syriac people known as the Jews (as no less an eminent historian than Arnold Toynbee has described them) have a right to a homeland. But why at the expense of other people? And why must they invoke their Scriptures, in which the majority of Zionists do not believe, as an excuse to deprive the Palestinian people of what is rightfully theirs?
AMERICA! THAT'S WHY!
The 9/11 bombings occurred because of the violation of sacred Islamic sites by American troops supported by the treacherous Saudi royal family. WHY I WON'T WORK FOR IAIN DUNCAN-SMITH
As we are all aware, Iain Duncan-Smith is a failed leader of the Conservative Party.
Not only is this true, but it can be reasonably argued that, under his leadership, the Tories reacned the nadir of their political prospects since the arrogance of Thatcher led to even her fellow Conservatives booting her out (from what I remember, the poor dear was in tears, which unemployed former miners' wives shall hardly sympathise with). Duncan-Smith is respected by all shades of political opinion, even those on the left such as myself, but his own politics are definitely to the right of the Conservatives.
The Strathclyde conurbation has a multiplicity of problems, not merely unemployment. The attempts on the part of the late Teddy Taylor to destroy UCS took the heart out of the Glaswegian working class, and John Davis didn't help either. The result of the depredations of the Heath and Thatcher years, combined with the ineptitude of Wilson and Callaghan, led to a stagnation within Strathclyde which is not only understandable but also (and tragically for the working populace of an industrial city such as Glasgow) completely deplorable.
And along comes Mr. Duncan-Smith, with his bright ideas and hypocritical smirk. Because of the unemployment in the city which made the Clyde what it was, Iain Duncan-Smith's ideas on employment were, apparently, radically changed.
Don't believe a word of it. The man's got the same arrogant contempt for working-class people as the rest of the millionaires he hobnobs with. And his ideas for "improving the lot" of the people of Glasgow and returning us to the "incentives" of the Industrial Revolution are pure eyewash.
Karl Marx, in his brilliant work "Wage, Labour and Capital" outlines the way in which bosses manipulate workers in such a way that they know that if they do not work at the set rate they will starve. The knives are out, because Iain Duncan-Smith, the "quiet man" is definitely here to stay. He is a formidable enemy. BUT SO ARE WE!
The mobilisation of the workers against Tory cuts is of primary importance for all workers in Britain today. Churchill, the arch-hero of Conservatism, described Mahatma Gandhi as a "naked fakir". But Gandhi's use of passive resistance got the British kicked out of India. And we must use passive resistance. Starvation and nakedness mean nothing to the Christian, and as a Christian I shall never tolerate tyrants.

WHY I WOULDN'T FIGHT IN AFGHANISTAN
I wouldn't fight in this war because it's plain wrong.
It dosen't occur to our thick American friends that people get a little sick and tired of their countries being taken over by a bunch of Jewish refugees because a group of atheistic bankers, who have the means to get the British Empire out of a nasty situation in the Middle East because the Ottomans decided to support the Central Powers in the mass slaughter of the working class which took place between 1914-18. And, as usual with America, the "New World" mentality came in. They didn't have the slightest idea about Communism so McCarthy decided to have a little pantomime. Now they think they understand Islam.
An elementary understanding of Islamic history will show that when Muslims are provoked to anger (as they obviously have been!), they are almost impossible to defeat in war. The Byzantines tried and failed, and were it not for the Battle of Poitiers they would have conquered Europe. Time we showed our Muslim foes a little respect, in the knowledge (and fear of Almighty God, who is already punishing us by means of adverse weather, natural disasters, disease and economic collapse) that if they win this war the cost for us shall be terrible.
